  • Millennials want to contribute positively to the company they are associated with. They expect to be involved in making important decisions. They also expect organisations to think beyond the bottom line.
  • While a good salary package is important, millennials look for better non-monetary compensations. For the millennial employee money is secondary. A constructive work environment, benefits and career progression is just as important.

When millennial talent approaches your company to enquire about employment, make sure that you promote your business in ways that are attractive to them. Provide Feedback

Millennials desire constant feedback and recognition. Schedule regular performance evaluations to provide feedback and maintain open communication channels with your employee. Be Flexible

Millennials expect flexibility. Set clear targets and deadlines, and encourage achievement of these goals. Do not set restrictions on time and give them the leverage to work remotely for optimum productivity.

Do not Expect them to Stay for Long

Millennials tend to switch jobs frequently. Initially, Baby Boomers stayed for at least 4.4 years in a single role. The estimated tenure of a millennial is approximately half of their predecessors. Studies show that 90% of millennials will only stay in a job for less than three years.
